Today, CBD is a boutique building and development company specialising in residential and commercial projects within 10kms of Brisbane's CBD.
The Group of Companies is a wholly owned private company founded by its Managing Director, Mr Brendan Rehbein
The Company has grown from modest beginnings in 1992 with an ever-increasing number of projects being undertaken by the Group. Our first project was undertaken in the suburb of Woolloongabba and was a renovation of a 19th century colonial cottage. This project was completed after hours, in the evenings and on weekends, with assistance from some friends and family.
After many years of having contracted work outside the development group, in 1999 CBD Homes was created and registered as a building company in its own right.
The Group has a core group of staff with many other indirect members as sub-contractors for the construction side of the business. The Group is managed in the following Divisions:

The company has been awarded various building awards over the years and have also received the BCC Heritage Grant while maintaining the forefront position in the building construction industry. CBD is proud of its commitment to environmental, sustainability and 'designed for climate' expertise.
CBD has always been a leader in the regeneration of the older areas of Brisbane, constructing "Queenslanders", colonials and modern architectural designs in what Council refers to as "Character Housing Areas". Our experienced Design team is fully conversant with the complications in developing housing in these areas and has built an enviable reputation as a group who can achieve outstanding outcomes for our clients, Council and the Community.
Over the years CBD have carved a niche delivering boutique commercial projects within CBD's geographic marketplace. With an ability to identify unmet market needs, CBD deliver boutique apartment, commercial and retail projects with a point of difference.
The Company has been built on its founders' belief in the economic growth and stability of Queensland's capital city. As the population of South East Queensland continues to grow, there is ever-increasing pressure on the inner suburbs of Brisbane to house more people in a tight geographical area. Unlike Sydney or Melbourne which experienced significant population growth in the middle of the 20th Century, due to commerce and government focuses, Brisbane only grew at reasonable rates. Now, as people begin to have greater focus on quality of life, family/work balance, excellent weather conditions and infrastructure investment, Brisbane and South East Queensland is growing at unprecedented rates.
CBD is a long term property investor and holder who acquires strategic residential and commercial assets including a development land bank.
History in the Brisbane marketplace has shown that certain properties within 10kms of the City of Brisbane can have significant capital increases in value in an eight to ten year timeframe. Our research and experience has indicated that certain properties which have specific characteristics can outperform the average property results. We pride ourselves on understanding our property market within the 10km radius of the CBD and strive to purchase unique land for development. Through CBD's product, we are able to offer these special projects to a select few.
